Hi Guys! It's Victor here, relaxing and learning to drive in the holidays, after a very busy year in Grade 12.
I couldn't believe how much homework I had to do to get assignments done on time ... well most of them ... and to study! What study? I just absorbed info in class. My close friends and I kept each other going by live gaming and talking about stuff on Skype!
Mum used to give me facials, instead of yelling at me to get my work done! It worked because it was kind of nice and relaxing when I felt under pressure ... and it really helped my major acne problem!
In third term, when they were piling on the stress at school, Mum, my Uncle and older brother took my to my first concert since The Wiggles! It was KISS - their 40th Anniversary. There was a laser light show, videos on the giant screens behind them and a giant robotic spider on stage (which was cool - I keep thinking about how it worked since I had done a bit of Robotics in Primary School). KISS in their crazy make-up and outfits rocked the joint with some pretty cool songs - most of which I knew from Mum playing them in the house or car. It was amazing and enough to clear the cobwebs of apathy to get me through the last part of Grade 12! I ate beforehand, I had a drink at the concert and Mum took us to McDonald's afterwards.
After all of the exams, we got to celebrate at School Formal. My close friends didn't go, but lots of people I knew from my classes went. I wore my Dad's Tuxedo which made my shoulders look broader. The trousers were way too big, so Mum bought me a smaller pair and a blue bow tie. My family dressed up for the occasion. Dad drove me in his Mazda RX7 for SWAG. Everyone said I looked like Bill Nighy from Youtube. I'm a bit of a Maths/ Science Guy! We had some professional photos done at the venue, then my family left me to have some fun.
For dinner, we had salmon for entree, steak with vegetables for mains ... gave away my asparagus though - Yuck! .. and had a raspberry sponge roll and ice-cream for dessert. Sweet!
I started to dance .. to the surprise of everyone ... and it got the party started! My parents and brother picked me up at 11pm and we went home.
A couple of days later, I graduated in my Hawaiian shirt as I said I would and everyone clapped for me. It was really hot and they made us release balloons outside. The NZ students did a moving Haika, then my bro and I took off to Maccers.
What a ride Grade 12 was, but I'm glad it's over.
Now I just need to work out what I want to do next with my life! It will probably be University and more study .. but hey, a guy can dream!
